What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?
Whole body cryotherapy is a short, controlled exposure to very cold, dry air. You step into a cryo chamber cooled to –250°F and stay for up to three minutes while a trained cryo coach stands right beside you.
The cold only reaches the surface of your skin. Your body responds by narrowing the blood vessels near the surface and drawing blood toward your core. When you step out and warm up, those vessels open again and circulation rushes back to your muscles, joints and skin. Most people feel an endorphin lift that can last for hours.
Researchers are still studying how far those effects carry into long-term health. What we can share is what clients have told us across more than a decade of sessions: less soreness, more energy and a better mood.

What to Expect at Your First Cryotherapy Session
Step 1: Check in
We’ll review your health history and wellness goals with a trained cryo coach to ensure a safe and effective session.
Step 2: Gear Up
In a private room, you will be provided with gloves, socks, and slippers before entering the cryotherapy chamber.
Step 3: Step In
Your session lasts up to three minutes. The cold is dry, so it feels like standing outside on a very cold, still winter day. Your coach will stay with you and talks you through it.
Step 4: Warm up and go
A light pins-and-needles feeling fades within minutes. Most people leave feeling energized, and there is no downtime. Head back to work or straight into your workout.
How Cryotherapy Works (The Science Behind It)
Whole Body Cryotherapy exposes your body to sub-zero temperatures for 3 minutes, activating a powerful cold stress response. This stimulates thermogenesis, releases endorphins, and reduces inflammation. The body floods with oxygen-rich blood, boosting stamina, pain relief, and cellular repair.
Liquid nitrogen is used to lower the skin’s surface temperature quickly and safely.
Step 2
Your body enters thermogenesis, triggering endorphin release and systemic inflammation reduction.
Step 3
Post-session, your system is flushed with reoxygenated blood—leading to increased energy, improved recovery, better mood, and enhanced sleep.

Frequently Asked questions
How cold does the cryotherapy chamber get?
Our chambers reach –250°F. Because the air is dry and the session is short, only the surface of your skin cools. Your core temperature stays steady.
Does cryotherapy hurt?
No. It is intensely cold but not painful, and most first-timers say it is easier than an ice bath. You may feel pins and needles near the end, which fades within minutes of stepping out.
Is whole body cryotherapy safe?
For healthy adults it is generally well tolerated when sessions are short, screened and supervised, which is how we run every one. Possible side effects include a temporary rise in blood pressure of up to 10 points, skin redness, and in rare cases a cold burn or a reaction to extreme cold. Cryotherapy chambers are not FDA-cleared medical devices, so check with your doctor if you have a health condition. See “Who should skip it” above.
What do I wear?
Gloves, socks and slippers we provide. No jewelry, no lotion, and no damp skin or clothing.
How long is a session?
Our cryotherapy session are always a full three minutes in the chamber. Allow 15 to 20 minutes for your first visit and about 10 after that.
Can I combine cryotherapy with other services?
Yes. Popular pairings are contrast therapy, compression and red light therapy. Not sure where to start? Read cryotherapy vs red light therapy.
How often should I do cryotherapy?
We usually suggest three to five sessions in your first week, then adjust to how your body responds. Your cryotherapy coach will help you settle on a routine that fits your goals.
How will I feel afterwards?
Most people feel alert and upbeat right away, thanks to the endorphin release. Many clients also notice less soreness and better sleep that night. Aches and pains are also deminished.
How much does cryotherapy cost?
We offer single sessions, packages and memberships. Our team will help you decide which is best to help meet your health and wellness goals.
What is the difference between cryotherapy and a cold plunge?
Cryotherapy uses very cold dry air for up to three minutes, and you stay dry. A cold plunge immerses you in cold water for longer. Cryotherapy is quicker and many people find it more comfortable. Some clients prefer the deep chill of water, and plenty do both.
Can I work out before or after?
Yes, either. If you train first, dry off completely before your session.
Will cryotherapy help me lose weight?
Cryotherapy is not a weight-loss treatment. Clients use it to recover well and stay consistent with the training and nutrition that do the real work. However, there is a large calorie burn (500-800 calories) with each cryotherapy session.
3 Minutes is all it takes.
